Gunite is a solution made of sand, water, and cement. It is similar to traditional concrete; however, instead of being poured into frames, gunite is applied in layers by a particular gun that sprays it. This type of application results in surfaces without seams, making the pool more durable.

Depending on the pool size and other design elements, a gunite swimming pool typically takes 8 to 12 weeks to complete. The average construction time for fiberglass pools is between two and four weeks. Vinyl-liner pools take about two weeks to complete. Overall schedules can change based on landscaping, patio, and deck construction.

The overall cost of building a pool depends on many different factors. The most significant variables are the size and material of the pool you’d like to make.
