Deciding to build a pool at your home is a big undertaking. From size and style to design and maintenance, there are many things to consider. However, at Crown Pools in Nacogdoches, TX, you can rest assured that you’ll have plenty of memories in store with your new backyard oasis.

  • What types of materials do you use for your custom residential pool?

We use gunite pools that can be customized in design and offer durability. The pool is exceptionally watertight. Gunite is more impenetrable than other concrete, offering an utterly watertight pool.

  • What is gunite?

Gunite is a solution made of sand, water, and cement. It is similar to traditional concrete; however, instead of being poured into frames, gunite is applied in layers by a particular gun that sprays it. This type of application results in surfaces without seams, making the pool more durable.

  • How long does it take to build a pool?

Depending on the pool size and other design elements, a gunite swimming pool typically takes 8 to 12 weeks to complete. The average construction time for fiberglass pools is between two and four weeks. Vinyl-liner pools take about two weeks to complete. Overall schedules can change based on landscaping, patio, and deck construction.

  • How much does building a pool cost?

The overall cost of building a pool depends on many different factors. The most significant variables are the size and material of the pool you’d like to make.

Other considerations like dirt hauling, land clearing, extended decking, electrical work, landscaping, taxes, and permit fees also contribute to the overall price tag of a new pool.

  • How important is the pool’s circulation system and pump?

A pump is like the heart of your pool. It powers the circulation system to keep water fresh, healthy, safe, and sparkling. Your pool builder should be able to recommend an energy-efficient and durable pump that will keep your pool operating for years. This is why we use Jandy Pool Equipment. With Jandy equipment, you’re getting a product that’s easy to install in most pool pads, compatible with most existing setups, and provides unparalleled performance and efficiency.

  • Can a smaller pool be built if space is an issue?

A cocktail pool is the perfect option if you have a small yard or want a pool that requires less maintenance. Simply put, cocktail pools are small pools that allow for a relaxing, elegant atmosphere. This type of pool can be designed and built to include all of the features of a traditionally sized pool with a smaller footprint.

  • What kind of water features are available?

Many different types of water features can be incorporated into a residential pool. These elements can enhance the aesthetics, comfort, and overall function of the pool.

From sheet and rock waterfalls to pool deck jets, spillover spas, and tanning ledges, you can create a unique pool that meets all your needs and wants.

  • Can an existing pool be rebuilt or remodeled?

Whether you have an older pool due for an update, bought a home with a pool that needs to be repaired and upgraded, or want to expand or contract the size of your pool, a residential pool builder can do all these things. The remodeling begins by draining the pool. Depending on the size of your pool, this could take 6-12 hours. Once cleared of water, the chipping out process can begin. This is where the pool’s surface is chipped and primed. If you opt for tiling, it is done after the chipping is completed. The surface application is performed next. This is part of the process where a pebble and plaster mixture is pumped into the pool and then hand-troweled. Once the surface is completed and dried, the pool can be refilled, followed by chemical treatment.

Maintenance

Owning a pool is great. Enjoying your backyard oasis depends on the cleanliness and clarity of your water. Pool maintenance is such an essential part of having a pool. Fortunately, with a few routine steps and measures, keeping your pool’s water clean and safe and your pool’s equipment running efficiently and effectively can be simple.
